Kate grew up in a family of builders, crafters and artisans in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. She has always been surrounded by creativity and inspiration and had access to the tools to express her own creativity right from the beginning. Most fortunately, amongst the hammers, saws and the sewing machine, there were cameras.
“Even before I started taking pictures, I was obsessed with light…how it affected my emotions; created mood and atmosphere. I was also enthralled by the process of printing, and it was such a revelation to realize how I had the power to manipulate light and capture some of these feelings, and their essence, with the camera and on paper.”
Amongst numerous clients, Kate is known as the “light maker”. Her ability to create light ranging from morning crisp light, to dusk in the desert to sunset in Italy and her signature, rosé light, Kate can change the mood with a shift of light. Along with her keen eye for detail, Kate is able to work across platforms to create “ownable” imagery for any client from stills to animation to motion.
Kate lives in Brooklyn with her family and is often diving into various creative projects at their home on the North Fork of Long Island.
